CEO says NCSP still interested in Taman dry port construction

NOVOROSSIYSK, Jun 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) is still interested in construction of a dry port in Taman, and is studying ways of participation, CEO Sergey Kireyev told reporters on Friday.

“We planned (to participate) and we don’t abandon it…We are interested in participation in the Taman port if conditions of a concession contract and terms are acceptable, as well as the range of cargo types so that it does not double the cargo routes. We are waiting for the Transport Ministry to present a structure of participation in the project,” he said.

It is important to define the cargo base of the region, and capacities of railways. “The Transport Ministry is discussing it with RUSAL and Metalloinvest that are large cargo senders,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov easier ordered the government to finish discussion of a model of the concession agreement for the Taman dry port before Saturday, June 15.
